Tuition Refund And Credit Policy
An
official cancellation or Withdrawal Form must be filed with the
Registrar’s Office for students to be eligible for refunds. Tuition fees
paid are not refunded in cash but are held in “credit” toward future
course enrolment. The Registrar’s office issues a “refund” credit slip,
which the student may present the next time he or she registers. “Refund
credits” are based on the date of receipt of the official withdrawal
form from the student.
The
underlying reason for this policy is that many ATCEM classes are of
small enrolment and whether or not they are continued in the schedule is
predicated an advance enrolment. Should a class commence and then
students subsequently cancel, dropping the course enrolment below the
justifiable minimum, the school is forced to continue the course and
reimburse instructional personnel without having received adequate
tuition payment.
The
tuition credit schedule is as follows:

Tuition Credit Slips will be issued to students according to the above
policy. The slip is subject to the approval and signature of the
Registrar. The student may present it to the
Registrar for credit towards subsequent course
enrolments for up to two years following its issuance. ATCEM is
not responsible for lost Tuition Credit Slips nor is it responsible to
keep records of slips given to students. Inasmuch as the slip is
equivalent to a cash credit, it is assumed the student will safeguard
its keeping.
Tuition
Credit Slips to students are not transferable. Students for whom
tuition is paid by a sponsor will not receive refunds or tuition payment
credits personally but refund or credit according to this policy will be
given to the entity (e.g. VFC Region) making payment. Tuition credits
in such cases will be assignable by the entity at its discretion for
subsequent courses in accordance with this policy.
